Saiad Shah Nur Hamwi came from Baghdad and lived for some time at Burhanpur and then at Ahmadnagar. He visited Aurangabad after Aurangzib’s arrival, and initiated nawab Diyanut Khan, the emperor’s minister, into the Kadaria order. He died in H. 1104, and was buried outside the Paitan gate of the city of Aurangabad. Shih Nur was succeeded as ” kaliph” by Shah Mazlum, and the latt by Shahabu-d din Farrakabadi.
