SHATTARIA.-A branch of the Kadaria, in which the members repeat their devotions with great rapidity. Arif Alla Shah was about the earliest arrival in the Dakhan, who belonged to this sect. He was buried in his ” tekkieh” outside the western gate of’ Ambad, near a mosque about 400 years old, called ” Bin khami masjid.” Saiad Ahmad of Gujarat spread the Shattaria sect in Aurangabad, probably in the time of Aurangzib. He was a follower of Burhanu-d din, and his shrine is outside the Jafar gate.
