The masonry tanks about Daulatabad are said to have been old Hindu works that were reconstructed by Mahomed Tughlik Shah. Among them, the Kutlug Taiao to the east of Mausala is faced with masonry steps, and has a summer residence upon its band. The Pari-ka-talao has Pir Ganj Rawan’s tomb on its band, and is faced on three sides with masonry steps. It is fed by a channel running from other tanks formed near the hills for this purpose; and one of these tanks also supplies the town of Roza with water, through a system of masonry pipes. Sultan Mahomed Tughlik constructed another small tank at the foot of the Lamgaon ghat; a stone-faced tank at the north-east entrance of Roza; and five others in its vicinity. There are many magnificent remains of former aqueducts, and bandaras, especially about the neighbourhood of Sultanpur, which are assigned to sultan Ghiyasu-d din Tughlik.
